Hi
I have a Plextor 48/24/48A cdr unit which is playing up.
It seems to simulate ok but then fails during burn. Is it worth or possible to have this serviced ?
I have an Asus burner which works fine but was quite cheap even with light scribe. However, this does not seem to handle text.
It seems a shame to retire the Plextor when it was so much more expensive.
For info. I run Win 2K on a Foxconn MB with dual core Intel.
I still use IDE but will update to Sata as and when.
Hope someone can advise

Sounnds like it's a very old CD rewriter. It's probably simply worn out, and it's certainly not worth getting repaired. Sorry.
