SuSE 9.2 Pro. KDE 3.3 When I click the dash to minimise the current window it appears to close the program down instead of putting an entry in the taskbar which means I have to restart the program again and i have lost all the work. How can I get it to minimise to the taskbar again. I am sure it is something simple but at the moment it eludes me. Just switched to Gnome 2.6 and no problems with that. All I have done before this happened was to configure the desktops, could this be a bug?.

I don't have SuSE though I do use KDE3.3.
Not all window decorations have the full set of widgets, sometimes you have to right-click on the top left corner logo to get the full range of functions. Have you selected one of that type?
What happens if you try different Window decorations?

I have different decorations on all 4 virtual desktops and they all have the same problem. I switched to Gnome 2.6 and no problems, but I prefer KDE.

I have found a work around to this problem but not a solution. Right click Kicker / panel menu / add / special button / windows list. This allows you to restore any programs on all desktops that have not been closed
