| With Dial up ISP,I require one to connect my "old" Patriot bookcase pc to the Internet.The existing onboard Modem is bust!.Am usuing Mandrake 10 distro.

I would recommend going for a serial modem, not usb,(battery life is short enough on a laptop/notebook without a power hungry usb modem) if in doubt check the mandrake hardware compatability site

Has two USB sockets.Sorry about not giving you enough info.I have plenty here at home near Lancaster including motherboard. Oh,since last post I have started again on this pc running two o/s. W98se and linux suse 9.1 personal.Both installed OK w98 ok with onboard modem connecting to Internet. Only Linux to go!!
Off topic. I started diy making radio crystal sets moving onto audio.Guess my age? please bear with me!
