Hi,
I am running Suse 9.1. I opened a PDF in Acrobat, and tried to print it. The printing was unsuccessful, so I opened it in another reader and printed it from there. But I have the flash screen "About Acrobat Reader" hanging around. I logged out of KDE, and logged back in again, and it reloaded the screen. I have tried to close it, and have right-clicked on the panel and tried to close it from there, but it won't go away. How do I get rid of this pesky app?

Try pressing Ctrl-Alt-Escape. Your mouse pointer should then change into a skull and cross-bones Click on the window and it should kill it.

If you are running a KDE desktop, there is a KDE System Monitor program which enables a tree-like view of all running processes. If you find the rogue program in the list, you can kill it. This is better than the skull and crossbones, as I am not sure that completely knocks out the program and reclaims all memory, or whether it just destroys the visual bit and leaves an area of memory blocked.
