I've bought MicroMart on and off for a few years now but really only when I've needed to buy some new components. It's only recently I've done anything more than skim read the rest (an unfortunate side effect of which being a recent mild obsession with winning a mug in the caption competition). One of the things I like about it is the 'hobbiest' it has feel to home computing. A lot of computer mags give you the impression that unless your spending a grand plus on a graphics card you may as well make a collage of the Peak district with your cash for all the good it will do. Despite being a computing professional I've always enjoyed hearing about what people get up to at home (within the bounds of decency) and still believe that the enthusiast can do great things as well as just have fun - just look at what is available in the open source community.

So to the point (not something I'm renowned for getting to very quickly). Why have I not seen any programming articles in MicroMart? Have I simply missed them or would they not be of interest to the readership? Obviously I would expect to see a Dr Dobbs style article on webservices for Java Enterprise but there are plenty of scripting languages which people might enjoy tinkering with.

If anyone has any opinions let me know. Any feedback welcome. In particular on the technical level that people would like to see. If there is interest I'm willing to give it a go. I think we could put together a very effective set of articles as a community
