IMHO, I don't think this was the best decision Apple could make really, they've replaced the iPod Mini with a device which has neither the same purpose, really, nor the same features. They have replaced this device, whihc was HDD based - and thus of a relatively large capacity, with a PSS device, which is more expensive, smaller - both in size and capacity - and is completely jog proof. TBH, I wouldn't want to pay extra money for less space, as far as I'm concerned it would be like MS charging me the same for XPH as Pro. I think that this product could have been released as a separate range, or an extension to the Shuffle range - I would have been much more likely to choose a mini for my forthcoming new MP3 player than a nano, simply because I want the capacity. It's easy to forget here, but the problem with Apple portable audio devices is that they are over priced and underspecced, there are many superior products (coming with exotic accessories - like screens) are available for much more competitive prices. That's my £0.02, Chris

Yeah they are over priced and under spec, but god you have to love them the coolest thing ever. They wil go well with your Motorola Razor, your Casio Exslim and now your Apple Nano.
Correct me if i am wrong but all the above where bigger they made them smaller and the sales went through the roof.

Apparently the Apple forums are choked with people who've bought the Nano and have discovered that the display is about as resistant to scratching as butter.

| grr if you cross post your reply aswell, then how do i know which one is better to just let die. http://news.bbc.co.uk/media/video/40101000/rm/_40101908_ipods_carver22_vi.ram is all i can find now, the transcribed version seems to have dissapeared. yeah it is amazing hiw easily they get scratched, or at least what i've seen from picture, i still want one tho. I have a screen protector for my pda, i'm sure there will be if there arn't already some available for the nano. if not i might just use 2" wide sellotape
