Opened a can of worms here didn't I? I'm triple booting my systems now with OS X installed, so I'm not going to pursue this any more on this thread...(follow the white rabbit!)

There's undeniably a fascinating conversation topic here, but I have to draw a line when there's open discussion about something that's in breach of the law. I'd love a seperate thread debating whether MacOS will ever be commercially released on PC, but I'm afraid we can't let the conversation go down its current line any further. Not censorship on our part, and certainly not trying to curtail free speech, just that we'd like Micro Mart to stay around quite a lot longer..!

Discussion should be encouraged...the topic has sparked some interesting points, and as long as we are not discussing illegal step by step processes in ways of changing the system to our advantage, who cares? Gotta go, agents are coming.

I don't think you're following, Waxer. This forum and Micro Mart itself could very easily get into a whole heap of trouble by discussing such things. It's illegal -- there's no two ways about it. Would you want Apple to sue Micro Mart? I'm guessing not. Or is that what you mean by "Who cares?"?

Of course I don't want a legal wrangle, I love Micro Mart and have been a staunch supporter for years...when I say who cares, I meant who precisely are the people bothered about this debate...I guess the legal departments of Apple and Micro Mart...

Well, I didn't mean offense to anyone, so I shall end here...thanks to MM for not locking this thread, and Jason for moderating.

It's not actually illegal except insofar as the copies allegedly doing the rounds on BitTorrent are just that – copies.

It is against the EULA, but they don't hold any water outside of the US, especially in the EU where they have been roundly laughed at by courts.

That said, as of today, no-one has got OS X running on any non-Apple hardware except through emulation. Which is not to say that someone won't get it running, just that no-one has yet.

I think it is time for that new thread, so I'll start it...
