You may find that only the ATI and NVIDIA cards are supported.
Anything else there is no guarantee. However drivers are quite hard to get hold of.
Oh Globbits!!!

Off the top of my head, try this site: http://www.xlr8yourmac.com
I'll try and dig out graphics card info for you when I get a chance.

OK, here are the relevant stats for a B&W G3's graphics setup:
VRAM: 16 MB Video: ATI Rage 128 on 66 MHz bus, supports resolutions to 1600x1200 with 32-bit support VGA output (replaces older DB-15 port Apple has used since 1987). Rev. 1 runs as 75 MHz, while Rev. 2 uses faster 90-100 MHz clock.
ATI will happily flog you a Radeon 9200 PCI Mac Edition which has S-Video. It costs US$129 http://www.ati.com/products/radeon9200/radeon9200me/specs.html
This company sells such cards in the UK: http://www.macupgrades.co.uk/store/machine.php?name=powermac-g3-blue-white#gfx I've never used this company, so caveat emptor. The 9200 costs £99 inc VAT.
While we're on the subject of upgrades, one useful thing to do is to upgrade the CPU. The CPU in the B&W G3 itself is a ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) module and can easily be upgrade to a faster G3 or even G4.
A PowerLogix G3/1.0GHz with 1MB L2 costs US$209 A Sonnet G4/500MHz with 1MB L2 costs US$159 A Sonnet G4/700MHz with 1MB L2 costs US$199 A Sonnet G4/1.0GHz with 1MB L2 costs US$349
Hope this is of some help.

Just to put this in perspective, the faster 9250 PCI, of what is my modern PC standards a horribly slow card, sells on a typical PC hardware site for less than £30. It should also be mentioned that this isn't a real 9000 series card, but the a previous 8000 series rehashed. I believe it's technically possible to use a PC to reflash the firmware on a PC verison to Mac...and save lots of money...for those brave enough to do it.

Er, to put your comments in perspective, it's horribly slow by today's Mac standards too. Bear in mind the Power Macintosh G3 is now eight years old and thus can't take more modern types of card.
The price comparison is also not really relevant. What a similar card costs on a PC is all very well, but if you want a card for a Mac, only the Mac cost is releavnt. Of course the Mac edition is more expensive – it's a much smaller market and the G3 was only available for about a year anyway.
Peripherals and upgrades for SGI and Sun workstations are more expensive again, by an order or magnitude.
You can't "flash" the software because of endian differences between the x86 and PowerPC CPUs.

Cripes! I'd e-mail these people: http://www.cybercoment.com/macgeforce.htm Because they obviously didn't know that fact, and therefore did it anyway.
This is possible because, in general, no physical differences exist bewteen a Mac PCI graphics card and a PC one...! They are all made on the same production line, at the same time.

Yes, but that particular card is bi-endian. Try it with a standard PC little-endian card and see what happens.
The Mac is (at present) big-endian and there is a physical difference except in some bi-endian cards which are presumably made with an eye towards entering the Mac or Sun markets.
However, you're right – some can be "flashed". I was unaware of this and duly apologise.
