Hi Lee, If you are using XP it has it's own simple FTP client, just type in the FTP address to your webspace into the address window at the top of your browser and hit "Go" your will then get a log on box to enter your user name and password to your web space.
You can then drag and drop or cut and paste stuff for your site via this window.
I used to use Cute FTP for my site but as it's pretty basic this is much simpler/quicker!
Hope it helps. mike.

Im sure that both Microsoft Frontpage and Macromedia Dreamweaver have intergrated FTP so that you can upload and edit pages on your site.

In frontpage click File > Open Site and then from the drop down box select FTP Locations, there you can add your site's ftp details and connect to it.

As for dreamweaver click Site > New Site, a wizard should then appear, just answer an few questions and enter relevant details and you should be fine.

I use SmartFTP, available as a free download for personal use, from http://www.smartftp.com. Marvellous software, looks good and works well.

Minor gripe: The FTP functionality is built into Internet Explorer, or so I believe. It's either that, or it's part of Windows Explorer. Who can tell; under Windows XP, they both behave so alike?

Point to note: Windows XP still includes the good old 16-bit FTP tool, and yes, I've used it recently. Hooray for OPEN, BINARY, LCD, PUT, GET and BYE!

I used to use coffecupFTP, its free and i found it extremely user friendly.

But if you're into web site creation do yourself a favour and get Dreamweaver (you can get if off certain P2P networks but i didn't tell you that! )

My own little website was created using DreamWeaver and i can't tell you how good (and powerful) it is. I can see why its almost an industry standard!!!

Don't know whether I'm allowed to post the address of my own website but if you go to;

http://www.freebies-4-you.com

there is a lot of free stuff all of which I have tried and tested and use personally.

There is a free FTP program called Core FTP which is excellent.

Simply go to Web Design then to Core FTP - the file is about 2.8 Meg.

Hope this helps.

I recommend Filezilla, you can find it on Sourceforge.net.
