| Right this may sound daft but I have read both articles and so far it hasn't ask for the reader to produce anything. It just really states how to do something. The only thing it has said is get GIMP and that is only optional. I have followed the tutorials and produced images from images I got from the net and other resources.

| The way I read it, which wasn't very closely, was that they will teach us in the first few issues how to use each particular program and to perform certain tasks. Then in a couple of weeks they will set a task utillising all that we have learnt over the previous weeks.

| Fair enough I though we'd build up a portfolio of work then submit it.

Joey's hit the nail on the head. As this is something really very new for us, we're starting out quite cautious with our first diploma or two, and there will be a single assignment at the very end. We may stagger it a little in future diplomas.

| To be honest with the basics of these image editing software their is little difference. It is when you get into the more specialist features of the software is where the difference lies.

| As a regular user of GIMP over the past 5 years, I can tell you that the learning curve is not TOO steep, and the results are everything you'd get - and more - from Photoshop.
Thanks for the idea of the diploma. Now I can prove I can do it!
