Just in case anyones interested in my tuppence worth: I think that frindly inter-team rivalry is a large part of being in the FAH community. And part of that rivalry is having OTT forum sigs!! I can see several issues arising here, firstly daves point about excessive Bandwidth usages. The sig images are not stored on the MM server and are downloaded straight from source (as long as this forum code works in the same way as most others). Secondly I know that alot of people do not want to make a competion of this. In their case I say fair enough. Without meaning to sound abusive we are not pushing you to have a signature and boast about your league table position. Similarily these people are not forcing those of us who wish to brag to abide by their desires. TBH we can all have different opinions and still be a team. In my perfect world we would all have the same large flashy sig advertising MM and FAH but I know that it aint gonna happen, which is fine. Everyone should be able to to do it their own way. POne last point is that we musnt forget the whole point of this which is to fold in the name of science, IMHO I think that the sigs can help us advertise the FAH cause as well just by being there (and being obvious) I look forward to the responses.
Cheers,
Tom

Just try to remember that MicroMart is the team, and F@H just a subteam of it. Please don't treat it the other way. Currently I know of many who like the idea, as I did, but are not interested in the rivalry, pushiness etc. F@H appears to be taking over, why, I've no idea; you download a console program, execute it, answer a couple of questions and that's it. There should be no more required, and probably not even a need for it's own sub-forum.
Set it and forget it! that's how it should be, happy in the knowledge that you may, in the meantime, be helping others.

Got to agree with Captain Cad.
Folding is just one thing the Micromart online community is involved in, it's not the only one.
We have had real problems with OTT sigs in the past - as have a lot of online communities. OTT sigs will not be tolerated just because they are "Folding" orientated.
Hence my comments in an earlier post in this thread that Dr-Jons seem to fit the bill, unless teamed with a huge text sig refferring to the spec of every PC you own :-)

Sure MM is the team and I agree Folding shouldnt take over the MM online presence. However I think your wrong CaptainCAD. We do deserve a place in the forum. For 3 reasons. First it is a good cause that needs publicity, second people need help with FAH just like anything else and thirdly it stops the rest of the forum users from gtting bored of FAH stuff! And at the end of the day countthe number of threads in the FAH forum! It seems some people want to use it ! PS sorry Dave saying OTT sigs was a bit um...... OTT! colourful might have been better (i.e. not too big)
Cheers,
Tom
