Hi, Not on a par with some of the beasties you guys are cobbling together from your well stocked spares cupboards but "wee geordie" is up and walking folding his first core. System called geordie as it was put together for visit by poor wee nephew, Who was named after a character in an unbelievably twee haggis and tartan 50's movie.

Cheers Chris

Well done... I got an old one folding (PIII 600Mhz) So far it hasn't completed a WU but I hope it makes the deadline... Its on from 11PM overnight until 6PM (ISP's off peak hours). I'm hoping it will complete a WU within the next 72 hours of running time. Its not very powerful and is on a very basic install of XP. I dont expect it to power through more than 3 WUs a month. Good look with yours. I will be when mine completes a WU for the first time.

Hi, FM why running online Geordie will run 24/7 hopefully and I will connect to the net when finished and to get new WU. If FAH cannot connect it will try and then stop all you have to do is connect shut FAH with control c on the console version and it will automatically send and receive new WU when you restart it, you do not need to be online 24/7 for FAH to work.

I have a router though... And its connected into the network, I use the PC mainly for downloading large Linux Installation files and other large files that my ISP doesn't appreciate me downloading during peak hours. For this reason its a bonus being able to send and recieve WUs as soon as they are completed.

Totally understand ISP did the same to me recently after a spate of live-cd downloads.

Just to prove that to a large extent what WU you get is a lottery

Rig 1 and 2 got 40 pointers and Super Geordie got a 241 point tinker core. Go figure admittedly it will take the wee fella a week or more but who cares.

NOT LONG TILL ALL SCOTLAND DESCENDS INTO THE MADNESS THAT IS HOGMANAY.

Hmm... Thats interesting. My Rig 1 was getting 41 and 46 pointers while Rig 2 has got a 241 pointer. Maybe there is actually a pattern.
