Anyone else getting this?

I have FAH running from startup so that any spare CPU cycles are always going towards folding but if i start any games up the game window opens full screen and then immediately minimises to the taskbar. If i try to maximise the game it opens full screen and immediately minimises again. If i close FAH then all is OK.

Are you running the graphical client or console? I run the console and have no problems. At the start I ran the GUi and it did crash some games.

Is it all games in particular or just all of them

The GUI and its shutting all of my games down. Its no problem i just quit FAH and restart it when i quit the game. The only minor concern i have is that i seem to lose a few frames when i quit.

Its not just you, I have sometimes not been affected by this problem, and others I have.

Thats probably because you have your Checkpoint set for too long. Try shortening it to about 5 to 7 minutes. Or move to the console service, if that still crashes em or causes performance probs than you ca shut it down via the services dialog and it save all our data up to that point.

Yup, i had it set at the default of around 14-15 mins.

I've now set it to the minimum of 3 mins.

Mine has always been set on 3, even on the machine that uses console.. only prob is that it tends to make your log bigger, with 20 checkpoints an hour I usually find about 200-250 lines of checkpoints, (and the frames completed bit) in the console window. This doesnt bother me though.

why is that a problem FM its in the log file so you dont need to see it!!! lol

EDit:   oh I just remember you run with the console window open dont you.  I can see that being annoying.   lol

Tbh 3 minutes is probably over kill after much playing with settings Ive found that the best (for me) is 7minutes. Any lower and the HDD activity is annoying and slows my other programs down a (tiny) noticable amount.

I run FAH as a service and it has no problems with games at all.
