Hmmm, I wonder when Mercury will be changing their name to Cyberdyne Systems Corporation? It feels rather ominous, that cell processors are beginning to evolve to proportions far in excess of todays apparently cutting-edge silicone based multiprocessors. As the limitations of architecture based on a silicone chip approach their limits, I wonder how long it will take for multicore processing to be ditched in favour of a cell design. Let us see how the big 2 act to the performance of Sony's upcoming release, could Sony become a viable contender to the throne of Intel & AMD, they certainly will have the jump if cell processors become the new base for processing production. Someone call Linda Hamilton, we may have a real life sequel for her.
