Yep, better give Norris McWhirters mates a call, BJM.
Although...........
I`m pretty sure there was a Y lead that went from the "Audio out" ports on the Amiga500 to the actual modulator which then routed the audio through the modulator cable to the TV. I should think any single phono to stereo lead should work.

1st option)

There should be a "Y" shape cable that links the audio out Left+Right to the audio in on the modulator.

You could put the sound into the AUX or other of a hi-fi/video.

Link the modulator to the tv aerial input in the usual way.

2nd option )

Get 3 audio leads ( phono type ).

Link the audio Left and Right ( red and white ) and the composite video out from the modulator ( marked video out ) to a SCART adaptor that has the 3 phono sockets on it ( red,white,yellow ).

The adaptor can be plugged into any suitable TV or Video. Just remember to switch the TV or/and video to the appropriate AUX or EXT or A1 or A2 channel, this depends on how the scart socket inputs are referred to.

3rd option )

You can still get a custom ( harder to find ) lead that does away with the modulator altogether and gives a better picture too.

Links direct to the AMIGA video port and audio sockets giving an RGB ( and composite? ) input to a SCART end plugged into a TV or video.

May be just as well (if your telly has a SCART connector) to get a 'SCART Plug to 3 phono' cable - two phonos go into the Amiga Audio, and one into the video out from the modulator. Costs about £7 from Maplin Electronics.

I have just been givern a working amiga 500 but it is missing the cable that runs from the TV modulator to the TV does any one know i could get hold of one cheaply i'v tried ebay and few other sites but the prices were silly money and i not prepared to pay a fortune for a piece of twisted wire.

Hmmm, its a composite one end and RF the other, As for getting a cheap one, Ermm sorry no, You can try normal Amiga shops like powerc.com or softhut.com but how cheap do you expect? You can always make your own, Its a simple cable. (Wired the same both ends)
I would recomend using the composite output or buying a nice scart cable instead but the scart one is like £9 /£13

Yeah, i thought you just needed a video-to-TV lead and a stereo phono lead to go from the back of the Amiga to the TV.
If i remember rightly, my old A500 lead has an RCA phono plug on one end and a TV aerial plug on the other, it's nothing fancy.
I didn't think the sound went through that lead anyway, I always used separate speakers with mine 'cos my telly was mono.

yeah, but that's done by the modulator, you attach that via a cable from the stereo outputs don't you???

Alas Not, the picture can be seen if you use such a cable but the sound also passes through the same cable so no sound but a good picture i dont want to have to buy a seperate set of speakers as well.
