I'll have to dig out my 200+ Amiga Formats and get reading again :P

RE: Help with amiga 600

Hi all

Right I know where the confusion is coming in - the kickstart 37.350 chip is infact for use as part of AmigaOS 2.05 software revision when using OS2 disks - the problem is that there were three kickstart revisions that went with 2.05 - 37.299 which shipped by mistake in early A600s as there was no onboiard support for the PCMCIA II slot nor the IDE drive interface this was swiftly replaced by the 37.300 and 37.350 Kickstart chips. However they are still all only for AmigaOS 2!

Commodore A1200s came with Kickstart V39.106 (for AmigaOS3.0).

The Escom/Amiga Technologies A1200 came with Kickstart V40.63 (for AmigaOS 3.1).

It is worth noting that Kickstart chips for 3.1 are semi-machine specific - so be very careful when buying a Kickstart chip! Its also worth noting that the A1200 has TWO kickstart chips... and therefore Kickstart chips from an A1200 are incompatible with the OCS/PAD and ECS Amigas as a result and wont work in an A4000 or CD32 either!

As for installing games - most didnt allow it... you may wanna google WHDload though ;)

RE: Help with amiga 600

You could try this one http://www.amibench.com/ I have brought and sold a lot of Amiga kit on here (in the past). It could be worldwide, but tends to be reliable Amiga Nuts. The site has been going for years and just the place you may get your chip?

RE: Help with amiga 600

Amiga 600s came shipped with Kickstart 2.x ROM Chips and Workbench 2.1. To install Workbench 3.1 you'll need to get hold of a Kickstart 3.1 ROM chip and replace the 2.x chip. The Amiga 1200 came with the 3.1 ROM.

Not sure where you'd get one of these now.
You could give these peeps a try http://www.analogic.co.uk/ (If they are still there)

Help with amiga 600

Hi i have just got an amiga 600 i've fitted and formated the hard drive installed a 3.350 rom chip hard drive is showing up but i cant install or copy any of my games to it and cant install wb 3.1 it keeps telling me i need kick 3.0 to install wb3.1(is that a chip or software?) any help advice because i need it.
Thanks Ant.
