It's hard not to say "well done" without seeming to be patronising, which I assure you I'm not.

I cut my programming teeth on the 8bit Atari.
I was as obsessd with frugality of coding every bit as much as the overclockers you see today are obsessed with getting that last point of out 3DMark.
Always amazed me what I could with some tightly written 6502 on Page 6.

However, frugality hardly seems to matter in these days of mega cheap megabytes of storage and gigahertz of processing power.
Cache on my current processor has more memory tham the 800.

Surely the acid test of any o/s is it's peneration in the market place (or it's potential)?

Windows is of course king, the Mac is "the Mac" and probably always will be...
Watch out for Linux, it is improving all the time and has become embedded in all sorts of devices.
I have moved all my "business" activities onto a Linux box (but can't ditch Windows just yet).

I'm afraid the er is probably reserved for Amiga?

And no I'm not bashing either!

I knocked up this page to demonstrate how frugal AmigaOS4 is.

Note,the page is 1mb in size.

No, I am not platform bashing at all, after all, Windows for example has all the software, mac has some software and no viruses and Linux is, er Linux ;-)
