Very true, Wiz. But I guess it's still worth watching out for if purchasing secondhand from the likes of Ebay. :)

A little to late if the cpu has been bought but cpu-z will tell you all you need to know about a processor. I can't see many retailers still having the older version though. :)

Wiz beat me to it! But to add to that, only the Q6600s that include the letters "SLACR" in the product description are of G0 stepping. :)

It's just a code given to differentiate between models. G0 is a newer version of the Q6600 that betters the previous version slightly as the fab process is refined. The G0 has better temps I believe which helps over clocking. :)

What exactly is go stepping, as featured on the Q6600, and is it on all Q6600's.
