I can second a recommendation for Mario Kart DS - it rulez!

As for my favourite console game, well I wasn't really a console kid. The lack of keyboard put me off consoles as I've always been far more interested in computing. However, I do like Tetris, Tetris DX, R-Type (and R-Type DX), and many of the Link games on the GameBoy, GBC and GBA.

Computer games are a different matter; depending on my mood, GameX and R-Type will keep me happily entertained on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, Advanced Space Battle, Turrican I & II or Stunt Car Racer on the Commodore 64 and Amiga A500, and Lemmings on the Mig is pretty kool too. Too many others to mention, for different reasons.

street racer,hmm was that the one where you could slap people?didnt it have a princess and frankenstien type racer in it?i used to play that with my ex wife,she won then we divorced.i found that diddy kong on the snes or n64 was the most impossibly hard game that ive ever played.

Do you remember Street Racer for the SNES, used to love playing that.

All the funny looking characters and strange types of games like the battle and the footie games, lol

Me and a brother had a competition going in Time Trial mode. And the odd game of footy. :D

My vote is for the Snes version as it brings back loads of memories of boarding school, and 2, 3 or 4 player contests with masses of squabbling and hitting each other (red shells which allowed the firer to nip past on the line and steal the win were known to cause an occasional swift right hook to the offender)...

*sniff* ah... brings a tear to my eye :)

I've just got me a SNES emulator for the PC, so I can play Mario Kart again :D

I'm going through all my old games to see which ones I can legally download :D

You won't be disappointed. Loads of things to unlock and the challenge mode will take you ages to complete.

Just got the daughter the DS as we are a PSP family but no doubt I will get the DS version at some point and give it a go.

It has got to be Super Mario Kart on the Super Nintendo, one of my favorite games of all time.

Others would have to be the Dizzy collection on the Amstrad. Cant beat actually having to think about a game, tried to get my kids interested but they want nothing that you have to think to much about, they stick to wrestling and fifa on the 360?!?!

I'm starting to feel old!!
