My new build has a E2180 and a Arctic pro cooler it was just something that I had read about

I agree with Slippy as far as your cooler is concerned. As far as your cpu is concerned I have never read of any concave (i.e. dished shaped) heatsinks on Q6600's. The problems were mainly with E4xxx ans E2xxx's. Overall I doubt that lapping would be worth the effort in your case.

well it for the new build, Arctic pro cooler so yeah may give it a go....... see what happens

It depends entirely upon how unflat the heatsink is in the first place. That also goes for the CPU. I've personally seen it make anywhere between 10°C difference and no measurable difference on different systems. The ACF7Pro you're using is normally as flat as makes no serious difference, but you'll just have to suck it and see. :)

I just wanted some thoughts on Cooler Lapping? [was not sure if it should be posted here or Systems builders!]

Does it make any real difference some sites same 1 degrees!!!!!

Before I spend hours polishing me bits lol
