next time u have it in bits you should take some pictures of the insides etc as i would not mind seeing how it all fits in in such a small case :P

i can see the vent on your picture now, mine has about a thousand holes on both sides, i suppose thats not much though, i am also using ocz freeze for paste. I also have all my fans set to as low as they will go... water cooling is challenging me at the minute i really wanna keep the case but i also wanna watercool the matx urgh i hate decisions :D

The windows have vents in so they are good. Not sure on the voltage. think it's about 1.35v under load. :)

yeah i was lookin at a flower style cooler but in the end i wanted something a bit more robust, copper fins get bent really easy and i have fat fingers lol , but yeah np

edit- you own the cheaper lanbox with the clear sides dont you? i have the lanbox ht with full metal case and a vfd dispay and media center buttons. Theres lots of holes on the side of mine that might help it a lil too, btw what vcore u using? i have 1.2 in mine at 3.6 ghz 24/7

hi wiz i use the scyth andi samuria cooler, its got a 92 mm fan on it and 2 heatpipes, i noticed one of the 4 mounts wasnt in right on mine lolhad to sort that also the mobo is bent/dipping at one side im not worried but it is bendy, i noticed that there is a ac7 cooler for htpc, you might be interested in that.

also i have noticed that my cpu has a reverse concave (cant remember the correct word) ie its got a hump on top so i might also lap it too. I have just finished cableing up my pc at the mo too, now its clean on the inside :D

Although it's modular and the mobo tray comes out it is still a pain to dismantle. :( Although I'm tempted as I could then push it higher...Hmmm.

It's one of those where I really don't need to mess but want too...:hehe:

Edit: As I'm getting a new GPU cooler I could do it then...:)

** EDIT ** Just noticed you other post re the Vortexee Neo. Once that's fitted you'll be better placed to point a finger at the guilty party one way or t'other.

It does seem high. As I say it is stable though. I'll leave it for now until I get a better cooler and then I will check and lap if needed. :)

Hi wiz,

That's a big difference in temps 'tween you and specky. Just possibly too big to be accounted for by a different hsf. Especially in a case where airflow is limited and a decent hsf has less chance to work its magic anyway.

I could be wrong (frequently am) but I half suspect a concave cpu. Did you check before installing? Could be time for some lapping.

lols, yeah i have decided to use the hdd rack in the case as i now have a fan controler where the single bay is. But air flow is still good. winter is the best , how i love to oc in winter

Those are good temps. Mine are around the 77 degree mark now with my added cooling. I think I could do with a better cooler. When I eventually stick in a quad I'll use the thermaltake orb. I'm not to fussed as she's stable and winter is not to far away. :)

lo wiz, so then whats ur temps ? i managed to get my 8400 down to 42 -50 loaded, turns out the stupid push pins wernt in my mobo right, 3 was 1 wasnt lol, also i noticed my boards bent slightly :(

I was just interested due to the face we pretty much got the same pc, i also know another place you can mount an 80mm, on the psu holder to the left there is a nice open patch of metal waittin for it :D

I spent 2 hours yesterday re cabling the whole thing but its alot better now, i just wish it had a modular psu

Mine's a 60W monster that cost £150 about 12 years ago. I've got two basses and a Squier Strat :) Bass no. 1 is a Tanglewood and bass no. 2 is an Axe - twangy as hell, but sounds fantastic on certain songs :D

It was that long ago Marten I can't remember. Nothing special though as I was a poor student. The bass amp was a monster though! Cost me £300 second hand. :)

After gaming under a cramped desk its knocked 11 Degrees off my temps. Bet the 3870 is breathing more easily too. :)

Before messing about with extra fans shouldn't you first have cleared out all the old till receipts, bits of paper with scribbled phone numbers, several opened packets of travel tissues, pile of used travel tissues, 8 assorted lippies, 27 keys (21 of which fitted locks thrown away 5 years ago), 2006 diary, half packet of headache tablets and other assorted detritus which usually fills up and impedes the airflow of handbags?

It has knocked 12 degrees of my cpu temp under load. It maybe cooler today though. The test will be constant gaming at some point this week. :)

It was getting a little toasty in amongst the lippy etc so I did what Thermaltake should have done. More fans!!! There is a pic attached below. :)

Hopefully these will cool all three major heat sources cpu/vga/chipset as well as cool the ram. :)
