lol i hope not! it was an £100 netgear!!

what i mean is quite often restarting the router sorts out speed issues, so does the router get clogged or something?

just curious is all!

just thought i'd quickly give a go at rebooting the router and it seems to have done the trick! :D

why is this though? as this often solves many problems with our connection!

just two weeks after we got connected our internet was cut off for a whole night with no explanation!

but still! it's cheap as hell! :D

I'm not having those issues and Jason hasn't mentioned it either - and I think he would :D
So I don't think it's a "TalkTalk" issue as such.

My money's still on a technical hitch and they probably won't know themselves you're having problems.
Give them a ring and complain like hell!

so are they capping bandwith to try and stop people from downloading all the latest films and music?
its really annoying when you get worse speeds than you did on a smaller connection! :(

ive had talktalk broadband for over a year now,up until a month ago the speeds while downloading were ok,50kbs-300kbs down and up to 50kbs up but now i get 30kbs max,its only been recent and i understand this is due to recent technical work talktalk have done.at least this is what the technical support told me and could not guarantee it will speed up,seems to me that talktalk regret the 40gb limit and are capping bandwidth.i dont think its a local exchange issue.

i'm not too up on the whole isp/networking side of computing! i can barely set up a router! lol!
so how would i find out who my local exchange is and how to contact them?
through talk talk?

These things are never specific to an ISP, they are affected by local conditions.
Local could be just your telephone line or as wide as the whole exchange.
Give them a ring :D

ok we upgraded from a 2mbit pipex connection to a 10mbit talk talk one!
it was ok for the first few days as we were getting speeds of about 1000kb/s on our downloads!
but in recent days our speeds have gone right down to 17kb/s.

i can't understand why though! have i possible gone over our 40gb download limit? would that affect speed?

it's 2:00AM and the speed is currently at 11kb/s!

anyone else share my pain?
