That's it then Chris, obviously the frog jumps high and doesn't like low levels.

have swapped all parts JB and problem continued have connected up new talktalk modem/router downstairs on the old cable and filter and it flies and the greenfrog does fine for upstairs rigs. i think i have gerbils playing wirth my webs downstairs :P;)

Are you using a telephone extension, is the filter on the socket end and not in the master. The extension should come out the master (if you have more than one) from a double adapter. Extend to the rig and fit the filter at rig end. Then master out the adapter to the other one.

But then if they are BT Extensions (secondary) then this theory is out the window, as every socket (secondary socket) should have it's own filter to plug stuff in (telephone - Sky - Answering Machine) Modem.

Have you tried swapping the filters (one could be duff)

Have you got a filter on both ends of the extension cable, or just the master socket end?

Switch the modems round to eliminate a duff one maybe? :) There isn't a I.P conflict is there?

I cannot connect to the internet downstairs but can upstairs, same crappy greenfrog modem in both instances. If dave reads this i know USb for peripherals ethernet for comms. But using the gf is easy as it does need the house cabled up or a power supply moved around the house. will try a new filter down stairs and see if i can find a new cable. Any suggestion gratefully received :)

EDIT partial resolution new filter and cable no joy, but the line that feeds upstairs is a long one and got it connected downstairs.I doubt H will approve of the cables everwhere though ;)
