I just spotted this and instantly thought the same thing, but nightlight beat me to it. I was quite surprised when I first found this feature on a home VCR. I'm not in the least surprised that you didn't think to look in the OSD menu. Too clever by half, these Japs. ;)

There ain't no screw, it's all done via the remote from what I read.

For some reasn it won't let me edit the above?

I meant to say i had completely forgot about the screw and it's reason. i used to know and use it a lot on the Betamax Video.

I have searched high and low and there is no screw. There is a hole on the bottom but I can't see what's at the base of the hole. Maybe a rivet no screw can be worked with.

I think your suggestion is the cure but no screw, I am gonig to see if I can find info on it.

If having to prod is needed, please unplug the VCR before inserting anything in the case. The same goes if you need to take the lid off it.

I doubt you'll find any thing 'serviceable' near the tuner box tbh, but if you do, it should be either a small brass slotted screw, or a small and shallow plastic device with a Philips fitting.

I am not sure how old the Video is but could be early 2000.

Sadly I can't see any holes on the back, with a screw. Thewre is a hole on the bottom if that's it the screw is deep down. I will try a driver. If not I will fetch the case off and look deeper.

How old is the VCR John? Does it predate the birth of Channel 5 (some time in 1995)?

The reason I ask is that Channel 5 is broadcast at channel (wrong term) 37, wereas a VCR aerial output to the TV was normally 36, the two channels bleed over a lot resulting in what you are witnessing (though it's normally worse than that).

Have a look around the back of the VCR, you may see a little hole, or a screw head near the aerial output, it will have the numbers 28-42 above or below it. This can shift the output channel out of the range of Channel 5s frequency.

If you see this little hole or screw, put the TV on the video channel and purposley detune the VCR using a jewelers type screwdriver till the picture has gone from the TV completley. Now retune your TV to the new VCR frequency and all should be fine.

I have a Daewoo VCR and it doesn't want to give a decent ouput via Ant out, yet it gives a decent through output to other appliences.

Also it gives a perfect picture via AV ie the aerial is plugged into Ant in and it's a perfect (BBC1 etc) picture watching it through AV on the TV.

I just can't seem to get a frost less picture via the Ant out to TV.

Ok Video is dying a slow death but I still wish to use them ie Sky to VCR scart record sky and watch via the Ant out. The VCR only has one scart where as my other video has 2 scarts. with that I have sky in (scart) then out to TV (scart) without the Ant out (to TV) giving a good picture, I cant go out via scart while another scart is being used from Sky.

ignoring the Ant, it's exactly the same when watching a Video.

Any ideas on what could be done to improve the Ant out to TV like it should be.

i have tried it on other TVs with the same results.
