Good Colour scheme, not too distracting or painful on the eye. easy to read fonts

Nice design!

But, I think there should be a place to introduce people who new to the forum and a chit chat or off the wall place - a chat room. As stated in previous replies

Come come now, MM would never employ us common forumites. We would spend most of our time talking about the different ways on which we COULD write the article and then thinking up a way of involving woodpeckers and jam :ermm:

or even the opportunity to review stuff as a layman (heh heh rules out most of the old hands and gives me a better chance! :D ) tp give a more balanced opinion than just the experts.... bags the next high end gaming system...

Ah yes, it is quite annoying that. As most times threads are quiet for a number of days, and then magically become busy again.

When the old forum sent you an email, to say someone had replied to a thread you were interested in, it used to contain the title of the thread.

The advantage of that was you could then read all the replies to the thread since you had last visited, and any further email telling you of replies to that named thread could then be safely discarded as you had already read them in the one visit.

Well i thought i better get my pennyworth in, i must have missed it all, i been lost for the last couple of months,but just found myself:heheany other stuff, by mem ) Whats new anyway lol.

Mind you i have noticed that its so much quicker getting into tec/questions an answers.

And always seem to be searching for that MM web cam never seem to be able to find the blasted thing tho, always wonder what you all look like in real life.

Ohh an the chat room i used to occasionally go there , and talk to myself,always seem to miss one of the staff who had just left ,prolly see me coming.

Anyway keep up the good work in the mag,look forward to it every week.

Just love hunting around the town for one every thursday, you may say subscribe but its the highlight of my week going out looking for it lol, the sad person that i am

I'm enjoying the new forum, but can you tell me if there any techie issues with logging in? I had a bad time over the weekend, and couldn't get in.

Also, I can't look at the classifieds whilst trying to login either? What am I doing wrong?

IS IT ME ?

I am experiencing repeat messages?
When I view my emails with say Firefox and go into the forum replies then delete them, I can find the same email messages using another web browser?
It might be down to me using different machines but I don't use an email client so I am perplexed?
Is anyone else experiencing this or just me?

I had no problem with the old one mate. I also prefered the old chat room.

Whatever happened to that CD/DVD containing the contents of the of previous years mags. Now that would have been dead handy to me, and, it would have stopped my wife moaning about all the M.M. scattered about the joint. Sorry about any spelling errors but the person that made my new keyboard has put some of the keys in the wrong bl**dy places.

This is another great and enjoyable forum for computer users. I can say it is close to the 2 best, one of which, ntlhell received an accolade of being mentioned in that luminous wastepaper called the Guardian he he he! The other being Mozillazine which is the community of free browser thinking people.

Akkers, a little info for you. Ben says he has a line splitting device. This means you CANNOT get more than 28k down the line. BT are quite sneaky in this respect, where phone requirements are at a premium, they can and do split every copper line into 2 electronically. There was legislation about the amount of info a line can carry, and it was increased, but not above 28k. The only way Ben can improve things is to go broadband (which may not be to his taste).

ive always bought the magazine for about 14 months now, but have only payed 2 visits so far to the forum. first immpressions are good, ive posted two problems for users to look at and had good answers to my questions. overall i think a well thought out site with a lot to learn reading articles and problem pages etc. keep up the good work.

ps makes a change to get on a quality site without been charged for it so respect for that

It's slow on broadband (2mb)
Especially on the technical forum, loads of comments have been posted over the last few months, but nothing changes, still I can put up with it as the contents good!
