Ben says he has a line splitting device. This means you CANNOT get more than 28k down the line. BT are quite sneaky in this respect, where phone requirements are at a premium, they can and do split every copper line into 2 electronically. There was legislation about the amount of info a line can carry, and it was increased, but not above 28k. The only way Ben can improve things is to go broadband (which may not be to his taste).

Oldphart

RE: What Do You Think Of The New Forum?

I'm sure you could get more than 28kbps.

What is your ISP??

Phone-Line with who??

If it's with BT, then you can ask for a Gain Line to be done, free.

RE: What Do You Think Of The New Forum?

You lot are lucky.
