I was (genuinely) thinking of closing it anyway, as FP has become nothing but a useful tool for spammers to set up fake accounts using 'glamour' pictures and messaging every male on the board with invitations to join porn and dating sites.

One angle not covered in the article was the fact that numerous people whose accounts were deleted had paid a year's subscription for Cool Tools or Adult Access, and were not refunded for the unused months. This is clearly out of order, but I wonder who they should sue? Anarchy Towers is claiming it didn't buy all the accounts on FP, only the ones it wanted, so would they or the previous owner, CIM, be responsible? It would certainly be worth investigating...

RE: Faceparty Article

never heard of it??

RE: Faceparty Article

Heh. Last week I attempted to log on, only to discover they had deleted my account without telling me beforehand, which was generous of them. I obviously fit the paedophile stereotype. In all honesty though it was probably for the best, I find FP to be full people requesting obscene photos, people wanting sex and just....weirdos in general (and not the good kind). And then there is, of course, Grim Rita...the height of sophistication. Not.
