Had it running on an ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 which uses the same chipset as the 939Dual-VSTA. You may have been referring to the Intel versions, but as this is an older board, it shows it can be done.

Not sure if the crashes were related to that or if it was to the Catalyst driver not being mature enough.

It was definitely the folding crashing it. It hasn't happened since I uninstalled it :)

Left the GPU client and a standard console client running today, and am gettin 900+ PPD. 800 of those are from the GPU client, but the standard client has got a small WU, so it may give me more with bigger WUs :)

check with Spike , he said one of his asrock boards wouldnt run the GPU client , not sure if its just one board or several boards.

I have the standard console version on all now apart form Prometheus which I have the SMP version on, the GPU one wouldnt work? I have an ATI HD 3650 so was told it should work?

I'm running an E2140 with an ATI HD3850, and I've stopped the GPU client to let the SMP client complete. As PM says, the GPU client needs a full core to itself. When I fist set up the SMP and GPU clients, they would run together and give me a massive PPD, now though, they either give me less than one of them on its own, or they threaten not to complete on time :(

I left the SMP running on its own all day today, and it was only giving about 400 PPD, so I'm going to do the same with the GPU client now and see how that holds up. If it works out better, I'll put a standard client alongside it and mop up the spare power :)

P.S. I made sure the clients had finished their WU's before stopping them. This is all about the science. The points are just for fun :)

Give it a go.
You can run the SMP and GPU client at the same time but on my old setup (E2160 @ 2.4, HD 3850 512 MB) I got more PPD with a normal client and GPU client (GPU client liked to have a core to itself).
I think Tippon is running a simlar setup as well so he might be along with his wisdom at some stage.

Get the SMP from [url=http://folding.stanford.edu/English/DownloadWinOther]here[/url] and install on youre dual core machines.
The GPU client is there also.
You might find that the GPU client and a normal cient will give better PPD on Prometheus than a SMP client.

No I havent got the SMP ones on?

All I have is the service version on all of them and what I though was the gpu one on two (I think however it is just the graphical version of the normal one?)

Help, I need to get the best from my machines.

Looking at your computers with prometheus you could run the GPU-2 client on your 3650 graphics card which will get you at least 1500 points per day.This could be run as well as the console version on that computer. How do i turn the GPU one on and off as I cant have it runnning while gaming as I had to switch to the service one as opposed to the graphical one as it was minimizing my games all the time?

I will get the smp on on Orion and prometheus as they are both 24/7 and Merlin is also 24/7 running the service but oledr so will just ahve to leave that on as it is.

Money is tight at the moment so not sure about upgrading, all depends on how much I could build it for?

Check your text log to make sure you are completing 100%, and there are no early end units. I've looked at your stats, the WU seem to be very small.

What clients are you running on each computer.

Hi all

I have the three machines in my room folding 24/7 in sig, Orion, Prometheus and Merlin.

I just looked on FAHMON and the PPD are 31.80 on Orion, 100 on Merlin and 0 on Prometheus?????

Can anyone advise me on why this is, I would like to actually contribute not just limp in?!
