In the next couple of weeks my ISP will be giving me upto 8Mb speed, my Speedtouch USB (Flying fish) cannot cope with anything over 4Mb, so my provider is sending me a Voyager 2091, my question is when I link my second computer to this router will I have to download all the safety features I have onboard this computer ie. Zonealarm, AVG, Adaware, CCleaner you get my drift, or is there a way of sharing that security. | |

No, each PC still needs to be protected.
The Voyager's firewall will give you protection from "port attacks" but will not help with viruses or other malware that get into your PC by other methods.

if like me you use the free versions, they will need to be downloaded and installed on each separate computer. certain paid for versions allow you to use one d/l or install to scan/protect a network of puters, but i gather these are enterprise editions aimed at business and so more expensive than your bog standard version. you dont mention wireless security (the 2091 is a wireless router) but it does support wep, wpa, wpa2, psk among others.
