Hello people,

Just built up my new rig, nothing special really but having a problem. Built everything up, and added a Belkin F5D7000uk Wireless Network card and now the problem starts. The card seems to work well, when i boot into windows it connects to my wireless network and gets it's ip from the router. Now for a few minutes this seems to be fine, but then it loses the connection all together!.

When i enter the Belkin connection utility to try to reconnect, it does nothing, will not even attempt to connect to the network again, so i am so confused. Also, when i bring the computer out of standby, it does not even attempt to reconnect to the network either, it needs a restart to even allow it to connect to the network again.

Was going to try to update the software, but i'm not sure if that will help. Does anyone else have any ideas, or had similar problems.

Also, it is running on WPA - TKIP security, this had to be changed to allow the card to even connect, it could not handle the mixed mode, both TKIP and AES, which the router was previously set on.

Thanks for any help.

Regards,

Q

I'd try making sure you've got the most recent drivers, and, if you're using XP, I wouldn't bother with the Belkin utility, I'd just use the XP SP2 one, this has generally worked for me.

The other thing that I've had trouble with recently was a poor WLAN signal, it turned out the aerial had snapped off, but I expect you've been more careful than that.

HTH,

Chris

I have the same card try just turning the belkin utility off. Just let windows manage it, doent really make a difference which manages the connection but the samne thing happened to me and that seemed to solve it.
