WoooooHooooo

Thanks alot, my prayers have been answered.

Thankyou

Ubuntu 6.06 and Gnome desktop for me, started off with Slackware 3.something in the mid 90's (but still carp with commandline). Tried most distro's but eventually settled with SuSE and KDE desktop because the GUI tools were better than anyone elses at the time. Changed hardware to a slow laptop so needed a lighter distro, Ubuntu literally "Just Works" with all my hardware.

It’s excellent that this poll is here. Should be interesting to see how it pans out…

I have to say that I found this really tough.
I’ve used many distros over the years - Gentoo mostly, and I now use Ubuntu.

If I hadn’t used Gentoo for so long, then I would have certainly voted for Ubuntu.

But my vote has to go to Gentoo. It has served me well and taught me so so much about Linux over the years. (Plus, it will be interesting to see if anyone else votes for it! )

They’re all great in my opinion anyway

Cheers,

Macca

Ps – Ta very much for this, DJ.

PCLinuxOS for me. I works as soon as its loaded with no problems at all. I keep trying Ubuntu but always have problems with the sound and playing DVDs etc.
