The best I've ever done was 1Ghz Athlon (133fsb) running at 148fsb and unlocked to run at 1332mhz. Had an elsa GF2 MX overclocked, and sonic fury on Abit KG7 useing Crucial PC2100. Think it was ram that prtevented me from taking bus up any further but never could afford any better stuff.
ANyway my curent pc is based on Abit Kr7a133 and will be target for much ocing soon (have got myself a huge heatsink with 8cm y-s tech on top of it!!) but have little time. Soon however, as I have quit my job, I will have lots of time and no money. This is always recipie much benchmarking and system trashing

Duron 700 @ 900 stable
P3 866 @ ~1Ghz ran widoze ok but kicked Linux in the teeth
XP1700 @ 1900
Just got a new XP2000, Geforce4, new Zalman flower HSF and a swanky Coolermaster ACTS201 Alu case, not had chance to fiddle yet as have been to busy for the past 30 hours straight building new desks to hold all my PCs, gadgets and empty cups.
New mbo is a soltek with the Redstorm OC function, but as I cant get the via HW monitor working and cant find my temp probes I'm not gonna try pushing the CPU just yet. If the coffee starts to work soon I'm gonna try pushing the GF4 a little to see if I can get over 10,000 on 3dMark2001.
Next payday is a window kit and some lighting as well as some alu covers for the CDROM and CDRW.

How did you manage to run the P3-866 at 1Ghz Pireland. I can only get my P3-1Ghz up to 1.05Ghz at 140FSB , - ( Micron 133 SDRam.) I think voltage is probably the key, as I don't have an option on my Gigabyte M/board to alter the core voltage.

A lot of the higher clocked PIII's (Coppermines) ended up topping out at about 1GHz ,it was the limit for that core ,hence you won't usually get a PIII 1GHz to go much further
pireland

I have a built a rig for a friend using the Soltek 75DRV5 ,I don't bother with the VIA hardware monitoring but use Mother Board Monitor 5 instead .http://mbm.livewiredev.com/
Talking of overclocking graphic cards I got my old TNT2 16Mb from 125/150 to 165/175! ,after that I had an MX2 Hercules which I got from 175/183 to 200/200 ,& my current GTS2 I got from 200/333 to 235/385

Flondal,
Can't remember the settings as it was before xmas that I did, I basically just F'ed about with the FSB to see what I could squeeze from it as it was at that point a spare mbo and chip. Its since been donated to a family friend and is back to being an 866 again.

Cyrix *spit* PR166 (actually runs at 133) @ 166mhz,
PII 300 @ 450 with stock voltage,
PIII700E Cb0 @ 933 in slotket and v old slot1 BX board using softFSB to get 133fsband volt jumpers on slotket to raise vcore ,
PIII700E Cb0 @ 1050 in a CUSL2,
Also Voodoo1 @ 60mhz
2x Voodoo2 SLi @ 100mhz
Geforce DDR @ hmm can't remember, but oc's hard - had a 120mm fan on the front.
Geforce 2 GTS 64DDR @ 235/400
Next rig: P4 2.4b @ 3ghz (not yet bought) with used GF4 Ti4600 @ 325/747 - bought, waiting to arrive.

I think Assimilater put his finger on it when he said that the P3's would never go much above 1Ghz Pireland. My system won't stay stable above 140FSB, would probably been better off with 100FSB to start with, as 133FSB doesn't leave much scope.
Not to worry, my system is fairly fast for a P3-1Ghz anyhow, and will be adequate until my next system, probably a year or so, --- and by then more than likely about 5Ghz !

P166MMX @ 225 (75*3) sniff, what's that burning smell.....
Dual PPro 150's @ 166 (66*2.5) - nice little machine These run as hot as the sun standard, have a 8" fan blowing air over the active heatsinks. Sounds like a Typhoon.
1.3 Athlon (200FSB) mildly clocked to 1326 (102 bus) not bad fo | | | |
