Can you not condense the website down to circa 5 catogaries? There are just far too many to go through (and RSS feed)? Say:

OS's

PC Talk

Broadband/Dial-Up

Upgrading/Overclocking

Misc:

We have so many sections because they were asked for.
You seem to be in a majority of one
PS: many have been culled, changed or ignored. Some get very few posts, but still attract new faces.

The Web-Site isn't PURRfect, but then what is ?
I never fail to be impressed by the advice and real expertise that is on offer. I even wonder if I would be hearing BBC telepundits at last talking about Broadband limitations if it hadn't been for this forum's questions, answers and informed discussions !
The actual capability of low end Core2 processor systems would have remained unknown to me if it hadn't been for the overclock discussions and MPEG-4 team work.
The really smart work now going on about 'greening' PCs is fascinating, whilst Linux Mart debates are debating a field of PC activity that is not new to forum members, but almost unknown by the world at large, especially the BBC !
I try not to 'chip in' on threads for which I know there is more expert forum member advice, but as they often have busy lives and aren't always available, sometimes I will struggle to help a plaintive plea.
If MM ran the forum as a commercial 'support' site, employing salaried 'experts' or the 'baboons' referred to on another thread, it would probably deter membership and use, so long may it continue in its current form !

Edit PS - I learn a lot from threads that I don't take part in, proving that it's never too late to learn !

I never know or care what catagory posts are in when I'm reading them, I always 'view posts since last visit'.

I only post in the most appropriate catagory so that if I'm searching for a post it is easier to find ... or at least, that is the theory.

gaming: E4400@2.66GHz / P5K-E / 2x1GB PC8000@533MHz / 2x80GB D'Max 9-RAID0 + 320GB / 8800GTS 512MB / ViewSonic VX2835wm
server+media: P4 2.8GHz @ 2.4GHz / 775Dual-VSTA / 2x512MB PC3200 / 1000GB+500GB+250GB / HD2400pro
also: P3 for the mrs and a linux box and probably enough bits to build another one

How do you view the posts since the last visit and is there a way of RSS feeding new posts for the whole forum? That could solve my problem.

See where the Control Panel is? Second link across ("Recent Posts"). Click that, brings up a pseudo-drop down menu, and select "View Posts Since Last Visit"

You make a good point Bruce, I try to do the same, however some people, who dont even post in the Apple threads love to jump in and start causing arguments... you dont see me going into the windows section and ruining topics...
