Is Louis the the most unlucky person in the world? (well, MM writer then)
Every week in his System Builder column he has problem after problem after problem as far back as i can remember.
I'm always tinkering with my systems but hardly every get a problem, certainly not the amount he has.
This week once again he's taken out his RAM and gfx card with an oral fired projectile.
If it's not his PC's it's his E mail or ISP (which i would have got shot of long ago).
Can't we all do some sort of lucky chanting for him? Poor Louis.
Phil.

| I know exactly what you mean. Almost every week I think "Would I buy a system built by him?" - assuming of course I was in the market for one, and had the faintest idea who he was in real life. But, if he just wrote endlessly about how easy it was, and what a delightful, smooth running and trouble free week he'd had, it wouldn't make for a very interesting column

| But if he didn't have a problem, he'd have nothing to write about...which would be a problem!

He is like the MM contributors equivalent of Eastenders, lurching from crisis to disaster and back again, week after week! Although I am reliably informed by a lady friend that Eastenders has become more positive lately, with some new characters spicing things up and whatnot... can't say I watch it myself... edited - thanks J

He is actually quite representative of a lot of the system builders out there.
Unless you are building lots of units, every time you build a new one, there is something to damn you.
The generally poor info on many websites does not help.
We stopped building our own PCs a while back, simply because the time and effort involved was not economically viable.
Now, we just buy a clone with windows pre-installed, or a clone with nothing and install Linux.
Depends what we want it for.
Labour costs are too high to build our own anymore, because we never built more than 2 or 3 at a time(we only resell bespoke)
