Having just bought a new Dell laptop, how about an article on decrapifing a new PC, ie removing all the stuff you dont want and stopping services not required.

Actually, that would be a really good idea. Most of us on here would do it as standard, without really thinking about it, but newer, less experienced users usually don't.

There used to be a great amateur website, which I believe belonged to a Dutchman: www.blkviper.com .It contained charts and step-by-step instructions on which services were useful, what they each did, and which weren't. (The charts indicated different kinds of users, each with different needs) Alas, the site vanished over a year back... but a "cutout and keep" equivalent in MM would be very welcome.
