| You may also want to investigate this program called Zero Assumption. http://tinyurl.com/2wt59a Cheers, Whiskey.

Nothing seems to work, the card doesn't even show up as a drive so I can't select it for recovery.

| Hi Spedley, Are you trying to read the card from the camera or a card reader? You can sometimes have more success with an external card reader rather than trying to access it through the camera. There is no guarantee of course, so it's maybe best to try and borrow one rather than going to the expense of buying one assuming you don't already have one. Another thing to try is accessing the card through the file open function on a package such as paint shop pro or photoshop rather than using my computer. Cheers, Whiskey.

I have got a 1gb one here that I took out of my card reader too quickly and the same thing happened, won't even see it now. I spent 2 days searching for software and tried allsorts but to no avail. I think the only thing left is to send it to a data recovery specialist. I only have 1 picture on there too. Gutting - totally gutting so I sympathise! If you find anything though, please let me know, I refuse to throw it out!

| Try RescuePro (demo available from http://www.lc-tech.co.uk/software/rescueprodetail.html). I've used it on may occasions and it works well as long as the files themselves are not corrupt - if they are, you can get "interesting" results. If it works for you, SanDisk distribute it free with their Extreme range of CF cards. Dave

dont do it but
formatting it in the camera should make it work again and then use a file recovery tool to find the files this in theory should let you get them back off of the camera but its done at your own risk and not my fault if it dont work
