Hi all

I appreciate this question has probably been asked numerous times before but.........

Can anyone recommend a NAS solution that is :

Easy to install, configurable by web browser
250GB or larger capacity (preferably expandable)
Has a built in print server
Quiet / power efficient
Reasonably good looking
Not astronomically priced

Cheers

PeterG

I'm running windows XP pro on all pc's

The Buffalo Linkstation Live 500gb is £133 on E-Buyer quickfind code: 140781
I've had a 250GB (older) version for quite a while.
Spec sheet here http://tinyurl.com/2pvq8u

Inkjets generally don't work well on NAS printservers as they need two way communication.
My old Samsung laserjet works fine.

My trusty old £45 Samsung Laser works just fine off the Buffalo NAS box setup as a Psotscript printer.
The 2 inkjets here are multifuntion devices (have scanners) so are obviously not suitable.

I've got a HP PSC1410 multifunction, currently I share it through my pc using the print sharing feature of windows xp.
I was hoping to be able to share this printer without the need for the pc to be on, is it the fundamental way that these types of printer 'work' that makes them unsuitable for networking and therefore would I be advised to buy a laser printer?

Thanks

It needs the PC to do some processing for it, that's why it must be directly connected.
They are pretty dumb, that's why they're cheap.
