Hi there,
I'm looking for a good Digital Camera that can handle your average jobs (i.e. holiday snaps and weddings etc) without compromising on quality. Ideally I'd like it to have an optical zoom and be lower than about £90 (I'm still stuck in secondary school and delivering papers isn't going to produce a Bill Gates fortune ). Additionally I really need something that is just point and click (My parents have the "bells and whistles" jobbies - I just need something that can be whipped out of my pocket, aimed and shot).
I've been looking and have narrowed my choices down to 2/3 cameras
Kodak Easyshare M753 7MP
Fujifilm Finepix A920 9MP/A820 8MP
I was just wondering could anybody help me and/or give me an insight into this price range (I think online reviews are slightly impersonal) and whether the cameras I have selected are any good (Personally I'm favouring the Fujifilm at the moment but my mind is still open)
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

My mother has the Fuji A920 (got the bundle at play.com when there was only a £10 difference in price) and it's got a good quality picture, nice balanced colours with plenty of detail and if she can use it anyone can (she's the very definition of technophobe, she's been using e-mail for a year now and I still have to help her with it).
Rig 1 - C2Q Q6600 with a Zalman CNPS9700 HSF, 8Gb DDR2 800, 4870 graphics, Asus P5Q Deluxe mobo, X-fi Fatality sound with a 7.1 speaker set up, 320GB Seagate 7200.10x2, 500GB Samsung x1, slot loading DVD-wr x2, Hiper Type-R 580 PSU, running XP home and XP Pro64.Rig 2 - XP2700, ASUS A7N8X Deluxe mobo, 3Gb RAM, X800GTO, 200Gb SATA system drive, 250Gb SATA storage drive

I've had 3 Fujis, still got two of them. Always good value and quality images. If you can stretch to the mid £90s you can get one of the F series like the F40 (don't bother with the 3 digit models like the F480). The F series are worth the extra £20 or so on top of the price of an A series model. However, if you have to stay under £90 both the Fuji models you mentioned have had solid reviews and should do you proud.
If you ever come across a used Fuji F10 in good condition - Grab It! They don't make them any more, but it's the best action shot and low light compact I've ever used.

Found an F10 on eBay £64 inc postage if they're really as good as you say. Item is refurbished from Fuji so it should be in tip-top condition.

| The only problem might be that the seller is registered in the USA, although the item seems to be in the UK, have a good look at his detailed feedback and see what you think. Regarding the camera, ISO performance is excellent on the usual photo size for a compact camera and there's vitually no shutter lag and power up is quick as well. Battery life is astonishing and in reasonable light conditions the images can be blown up to A4 comfortably. My wife uses it a lot to take photos of the kids in the playgroup she works in, fast moving subjects in poor light conditions with no flash - no problem, up the ISO a little and set it to sports mode and she gets great pictures. I can't tell the difference between the results she gets and what I'd get from my S9600 which was nearly £300 when I bought it. The camera uses XD cards which can be a little slow to load images but this has never been a problem in actual use. It was European camera of the year when it was launched and nothing could touch it in its price range, there are lots of reviews still around on the web. Mike

Check your local Asda. There's an offer in the Bridgend store at the moment for a 5MP camera for £39.99. I can't remember the details, but it's worth a look
It may just be the Bridgend store though, as it's just opened and has some one off offers.
