i need 3 ports open (udp) for a game i play online, up till a month ago my buffalo router did that fine - then even though the web interface reported the ports were open my port tester didnt and shields up reported them stealthed, thinking it might be the router i tried my old 3com - same thing....
is this my ISP (talktalk) messing with my ports - is there any software i can use to find out? ermm dont ask me to ring technical help, that would be frustrating (the polite word)

ShieldsUP! firewall test over at GRC.com, quote from their website:
ISP port blocking can be easily tested, often quite rapidly, by arranging to allow the ShieldsUP! probe to have access to an unprotected computer. Since all non-stealth machines will respond to every open request — either affirmatively or negatively — ports appearing as STEALTH will be those blocked by your ISP, corporate firewall, or other external agency.

best thing you could do is go to www.talktalkmembers.com the unofficial official forums for TalkTalk, which are manned by support staff who will try to answer any question posed.
