| The only temps im going by are from Asus suite(dont shout), Asus probe(yes i know) and the bios temp( which at idle is the same as asus suite idle temps). I really dont know what else to say about it(apart from i have not the foggiest on temps), Which is the part in bios which has thermal throttling? if its a default feature then i would not have changed it but in my bios i see no such reference to it(under a different name?). Ive read a lot of your posts and replies about the temps issue slipstreem, Im sure your sick to the back teeth of repeating this advice to people so many times,(sorry for making you repeat it), It really is top notch advice and info and Im going to relax about the temps and crank this baby up to 3.6 if im brave enough.(use task manager to keep an eye on thermal throttling?) warm regards, @slipstreem, your are micromarts very own aXXo

If the BIOS settings are similar to those on an ASUS P5K, look on the Advanced tab for "CPU TM Function" and "C1E Support". Enable them both if they aren't already enabled. The latter may not be available for a Pentium D, but don't worry if it isn't. It's the first one that's the most important.
Cheers, Slipstreem.

I've come across one D915 making it to 4GHz on the budget ASRock mobo I'm using with an ACF7Pro HSF on it, so you may still get some more horses out of it yet. You have the safeguards in place so there's no harm in pushing it further.
Regarding the X1900XT, I'm not surprised it won't go any further. You were very lucky to get it as far as 650MHz. That's the fastest the RV580 GPU was ever intended to run, AFAIK. No amount of additional cooling or tweaking is going to get it any further unless you want to physically volt-mod the card. I wouldn't go there personally.
Try the ATT tweaks in the sticky linked to under my sig to pick up a few FPS if you haven't already.
Cheers, Slipstreem.

| I tried your tweaks on my old powercooler x1950 pro with great success, I will do the same with this one. I was trying to oc the x1900xt to the level of the x1900xtx, ive set it to default and have finally realised that im far to used to playing on my boys rig with his 3870.(x1900xt can still kick it though) warm regards

| Hello, After a bit of hard restarting i finally got 3.6ghz from my trusty hothouse D915, I had to raise the vcore to 1.33.75 in bios to make it sort of stable(10 min in orthos stable). I have no doubt that it will go faster, Im glad this chip has a FSB of 800, my memory will always be underclocked. warm regards

Nice going Mog!
I see that you have the Akasa AK965 HSF on your beasty. I'm sure you can get close to 4GHz if you happen to have a good D915. You may need to go up to 1.35Volts for Vcore though. I've had a look on Google and plenty of people have gone that far without frying anything. It's up to you obviously, but it would be great to see it hit the magic 4GHz, even if just for a quick SuperPi test.
Cheers, Slipstreem.
