| Post for a friend with Sky broadband, he has been on phone to them today for an hour but no joy. Basically when he goes to connect he gets an error message as follows "ADSL line failure, line not physically connected". To me it sounds like a BT problem any ideas guys. Cheers

| Is the telephone side ok, to determin the line try directly from the master socket for the phone and ADSL. Sounds it could be a dodgy micro filter, does he have another MF to try. How far from the master telephone socket is the computer. Does he use an extension lead (could be faulty) Just a few things to try. As a rule it wouldn't give no error if the line was at fault, it just wouldn't connect. Is it via ehernet or USB modem, try another cat (USB) cable or ethernet card.
