I subscibe to the magazine and I am a regular visitor to this forum, but I am getting really fed up with a problem that has plagued me for months and that is when I log in as soon as I select recent posts or select one of the forums to read i get logged out and to reply takes sometimes five or six goes (with logging in again), to reply as I keep getting logged out.
I posted about this about six months ago and I am not the only one with this problem, surely it cannot be that hard to sort out.
I have four computers, two running XP home, one running Xandros and the final one runs Linux Mint (Which tells me the problem is not at my end) and the same problem occurs whether I use Opera, FF or IE7.

bigdaddy, probably 90% of the people on the forum are not having problems, but I did not put this post on for those sort of comments, I posted to see if it could be sorted out.

Oh dear, a perfectly innocent reply causing offence. Sorry about that.

bigdaddy there was no need for an apology, it is just that to have to keep logging in all the time is so annoying, and I would so like to have a resolution to this.

This happens to me quite a lot too. I thought it was Firefox issue but it happens in Opera too.
As i mentioned here a few months back, clearing history and deleting cookies clears it up for a few days but then comes back. I have no idea why.
Phil.

Roughly 9500 members on this forum. I've seen under 10 people complain about this problem.
(10/9500) x 100 = 0.11%
So your statement of 10% is a factor of 100 too big, with the statistics I have now
Have you tried Safari? It might work.

MartenReed, please learn to read if you wish to make pointless arguments with members of the Forum.
Nobody stated 10%, someone did say 'probably 90%' are not having... but this has a similar probability of being true as your statement based upon your supposed number of seen complaints against an inaccurate number of actively posting Members.
The problems are not browser specific, they are caused probably due to a combination of browser and/or forum settings and the way in which some members use this site
There are for instance a large number of frequently posting members here who remain logged in, some customise their browser security and privacy settings and others make changes within their control panel as to their site preferences. They can only be solved once it is discovered exactly the combinations required to reproduce it, and due to the 3rd party nature of the Forum software, will likely never be fixed
I'm actually a little distressed that I'm having to make this post, but it does appear to me at this time that many replies are being made in topics which not only add nothing to the content of the topic but border on general unfriendliness.
