| Sorry if this isn't the correct forum for this type of question. I work for a small company with a small netwrok running connected to a server for saving of files to. For some reaosn when twe came in this morning, all the files back to the 29th May have gone. We have a back up which was made on Monday but have lost the work done yesterday (Tuesday). The missing files are across numerous folders and are of all types. The server is running a mirrored array, and reports no errors, so it's probably not a hardware problem. We use Backup software called GRBackup Pro. The server is running Windows Server 2003. Anyone got any suggestions what may have happened? Thanks

| Sounds like someone ran a restore and not a backup....I'd check the logs.

| Could be a number of things really, depending on the security you place on the files, do you use AD, are all files open to everyone. Could be a disgruntled worker, network may have been hacked. Its very specific data to lose so I would wonder about those things. Also is the data spread out over several servers or just one. But it could be that someone has restored an old backup by mistake but unlikely unless a tech was working late or you had an unexplained server outage during the day?
