Apologies if this belongs in the wireless forum as this also includes a bit of wired query.

Currently at home I have the following setup:

I would like to have:

I have a couple of questions (please don't suggest an ethernet cable as my dad doesn't want to drill holes in the walls ):
1) What do I need for box X, I believe it is a switch and not a router?
2) To connect the switch can I just plug a wireless ethernet adaptor into the switch (one of the ones sold for game consoles) or do I need to setup a proper WDS wireless bridge with 2 bridge adaptors? Such as using two Edimax EW-7206APG units (further what cable do I use to connect the edimax unit to the switch/router? crossover or patch?)

Thanks,
Michael
