Does it not show you the actual voltage if you set them manually?

Intel e7200 @ 4.0GHz (4.32GHz SuperPi(e)) Lapped
Asus P5E-VM (Vdroop pencil modded)
4Gb Patriot Pc6400 4-4-4-12
250Gb Samsung Spinpoint
Sapphire ATI 3870/Akasa Vortexx Neo
Enermax 600 Watt PSU
Ubuntu/Win XP
All in a Thermaltake Handbag...
Or flying @ 4.21GHz in the Stacker.

Right

NB is set at 1.425 [ 1.6 is Max]

SB is set at 1.7 [1.7 is Max!!!]

SB C P 1.05

Maybe [not tried yet!] try decreasing NB & SB see if it still boots... as I have upped Cpu to 1.4v

I'm itching to push to 3.7 rofl......

Really am out of my depth, read so many posts threads forums but its more to do with mobo, setup, cpu, cooler etc.....

Most reviews do not rate MSI boards as good clockers ......

You can push them if you choose but make sure they are cool. For 24/7 use though a more subtle voltage maybe in order. As you say if it's stable at 3.6GHz then slowly take voltages down until you find instability and then nudge them back up.

Mr Green (27/06/2008)
Most reviews do not rate MSI boards as good clockers ......

It all depends how a person defines a good overclocking motherboard really. Most overclockers working on a normal person's budget go for a CPU with a high multiplier then it doesn't really matter much which motherboard you put it in, as long as the BIOS is tweakable.

A C2D with a multiplier of x10 will get very close to 3GHz in a budget ASRock mobo (~£45?) and that's pretty much as far as most people seem comfortable to go 24/7 if they don't want to end up with a rig that sounds like a hovercraft anyway.

Cheers, Slipstreem.

System specs: "Phoenix" - Intel C2D E4500 overclocked to 3GHz with ACF7Pro HSF on Volt-modded ASRock 775Dual-VSTA mobo (modded BIOS rev 3.10A and VNB=1.65, Vagp=1.8), 2x1GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800 RAM (3.0,3,3,8,1T @546MHz), Sapphire ATI HD3870 512MB GDDR4 PCIe graphics card overclocked to 850MHz GPU & 2.4GHz RAM. Powered by Hiper Type-M 580W PSU. Guess who likes overclocking on a budget.

How good is the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro HSF really?
