I have dropped it back to 3 gigs atm....

Vcore was 1.45 and it would not boot at 3.8gigs so I figure either more vcore voltage or ram voltage not sure which

Not really messed with NB & SB figured it would be a bad idea so they are stock

Of course it could be ram multiplier as its creeping up to 850

As I run linux there is no solid way to test how stable it is, the fact that it booted was enough for me

3.8 on air is my goal ;-)

you will have problems getting 3.8 stable on air cooling, that is the most i could get stable with hi end water.

3.7 is a really good clock on air, just watch the temps tho best not let them go over 70c long term..

3.8 on air with my mobo and ram is not going to happen ;-( more so on air

up to around 3.5 you can run stock

could boot at 3.7.... 3.8 well I figure nearer 1.5 vcore [ouch!]

Yes water cooling would help but its the cost that puts me off.... but thats another thread :-)

Thats one cool system you have there

Re: Stressing in Linux, in case it helps.
With sensor settings adjusted to show green for normal low temp idle for CPUs, NB, SB and even GPU, I have found that with LinuxMint or Ubuntu multi-tasking stability, you can just keep adding tasks like video transcoding to load and stress the system, thus achieving amber and even red.
(Reading this thread and others, the Q6600 sounds great, but E4600 will have to do for me. )
