Hi Mr Green
Sorry, had assumed from your temperature colour references that you were already using Linux 'sensors'. These were revealed to me by gn2 and Attercop, but I've been too busy repairing friend's PCs to write it up properly.
If you are using Ubuntu 8.04 (or 8.04.1) or Mint5, you've got it made. In Terminal, keep entering sensors and you will get prompted for sudo installation and repetitive sensor scanning, which will all spring into life after a Restart, only then responding to the sensor command with a text display. If you then use Synaptic to search for sensors and install sensors-applet and libsensors, the 'Add To Panel' will then offer a simple graphical display, whose 'Preferences' allows the colour threshold adjustments that I referred to, and so it's better (and more fun) than minimised CoreTemp plus SpeedFan in WinXP. I hope that you find this useful for your Quad.
Loaded sensor applet got a lot of info on my panel now :-) will try running fsb up again now I can watch those temps
Thanks
MrG
