Ok guys thanks a lot. I'll start reducing the voltage slightly after orthos has ran a while longer. I know I should be letting orthos run for hours but can I run it for considerably less than that? I'm quite patient but I don't really want to wait more than an hour for each test. This'll probably be my last post for a couple of hours now while I try and get everything run as best I can.
Btw wiz, to check the voltage when logged in I'm using the Asrock overclocking thing that came with the mobo.
Edit - Mog, just seen your posts. Thanks for the advice and reassurances. Talk to you guys later.

Daniel, Im an impatient grumpy bloke but i will not rush the orthos test on a pc that i have spent my wages on, Two hours at least and preferably 9 hours on cpu grommacs core test.
Dont use any mobo apps for temp watching, Use core temps or real temps which can offer more reliability than mobo apps.
warm regards

I hate waiting too. Over night is the best way if you can stand the racket or put it in another room. Then you have the morning rush of is it still going!

grommacs cpu test? Is that another option on orthos, like atm it's doing small FTTs. I can't check because I'd have to stop the test. I only use the mobo app to check the voltage, all the stuff on it seems pretty accurate though when comparing to speed fan, I also have coretemp, although the both probably use the same sensors...
I'll leave it on all night then...FOR THE RUSH! It's coming up to 40 minutes so I'll let it continue or do I need to stop it for the "grommacs test"? Thanks again.

I prefer Gromacs as it hammers the cpu. Blend test is also good but if your sure your ram is stable.

Hi Daniel,
My bet is that the extra voltage will solve it, or if it doesn't then a tad more will sort it.
Don't worry about the temps. If you remember I suggested that you enable Thermal Throttling and I presume you did. That means that if temps were too high the cpu is automatically throtlled back. Truly do not worry.
TBH I should have initially suggested a higher voltage anyway because most mobo's suffer vdroop. My own 650i mobo runs a C2D at 1.4v but underload droops to 1.36v. Take a look at CPUZ on your own machine and see what voltage that is saying the chip is getting while Orthos is running. I suspect it is 1.37v or lower. Actually it would be good if you could post it here then we'll have some idea of that boards vdroop for future reference.
Cheers,
vfm
