Well done! Tightening the timings is the next tweak yes.

Intel e7200 @ 4.0GHz (4.32GHz SuperPi(e)) Lapped

Your processor is dual(duel or jewel) core so they can have different temps, It looks like you have cracked it so well done that man. I would now set the timings to 4 4 4 12 and leave the memory voltage on auto, you are still below the rams spec so this should be ok(at 800Mhz 4 4 4 12 your voltage will be 2.2v)

warm regards

Possibly not. Many boards under volt ram for safety reasons. Auto is more likely 1.8v so set it manually.

I'll just let orthos run a bit longer at it's lower voltage first, I forgot to take note and can't remember the increments but I think it must be around 1.38250v from 1.38750 (0.005v seem like a common difference in voltage options?).

Will changing the memory timings/voltage make my computer crash or anything and also, should I run some kind of test afterwards?

It will crash if your timings are wrong but will go faster if your timings are right, What is your FSB now?

@Wiz, Im sure he's nowhere near 800Mhz with his ram, so would he still have to put 2.2v manually even if the rams running at 600Mhz?

@ mog
He is bang on 800Mhz. The 650i decouples ram speed and I had Daniel set it at 400 (ie 800DDR).

@Daniel
If you had had to overvolt the chipset (i.e. Northbridge) then I'd say put a fan on it. But as you are at stock voltage (i.e. under 1.4v) it will be fine without one.

Yep its time to tighten the timings as suggested earlier.

Cheers,
vfm

***PS - I agree with wiz!. All to often recent mobo's undervolt ram. I'd say set it to 2.1v or 2.2v.

Thanks for clearing that up VFM. Would you guys say that 8 hours is long enough for orthos to test the CPU? I ask because this lower voltage is still working (it'll 4 hours at 2200) and it's quite likely I'll be up till about 2am, making 8 hours total (maths pro )

If it's ok then I'll take it down what'll probably be the final time and then obviously by the time I wake up that'll have been tested. Am I kinda lucky that my chip is stable on 1.38v @3Ghz when as herr mog said, it takes most E2180's 1.40-1.41V?

Sorry to keep dragging this thread on btw guys. Soon I'll be able to get to the memory timings I promise ha ha

P.S I like using 'll
