It's a nightmare! Maybe we should all install several and just one real time AV.

Intel e7200 @ 4.0GHz (4.32GHz SuperPi(e)) Lapped
Asus P5E-VM (Vdroop pencil modded)
4Gb Patriot Pc6400 4-4-4-12
250Gb Samsung Spinpoint
Sapphire ATI 3870/Akasa Vortexx Neo
Enermax 600 Watt PSU
Ubuntu/Win XP
All in a Thermaltake Handbag...
Or flying @ 4.21GHz in the Stacker.

Try some MM Super Pi(e) here!

Thanks CC

I've been looking for alternative Anti-Virus programs for a media centre PC. Avira with it's pop up would not go down well popping up in the middle of Emmerdale (Yes I know....).

Slightly off topic, but where is the best place to find comparisons of Anti-virus with clean up rates and missed viruses etc? Google hasn't helped much in this respect.

Thanks again

That's one of the questions I would really like to ask

I reckon due to constraints on his OS being allowed access to files etc. Much in the way Linux based operating systems work on.

Stuff like deliberatley restricting an account for daily use, IE not using an Adminstrator account when ever possible is a good place to start. If you can't access certain files and folders then the OS can't do the same as you are not permitted to do so, leaving a 'passer by' with no chance of changing startup entries, crital system files and the ilk.

I don't know how Captain Cad uses Windows, but I dare say it's a lot less hap hazzard than the most of us.

Thanks Davo. Quite a few surprises in that list.

I'm not sure whether to believe it or not though. I've always thought ESET to be the top dog in Anti-Virus.

Goes to show what I know :\

Interesting! But Firewalls and not AV. Although I'm now downloading Commodo!
