On the motherboard CD you'll find a utility called @BIOS.
It allows you to save the BIOS and update it from within windows.

For temps download Speedfan (free).

If you run SpeedFan in its default maximized Window it will show a lot of sensor parameters, but minimized will only show a single, selected temperature on the task bar, which can be the GPU.
CoreTemp on the other hand, when minimized can show all the CPU temperatures on the task bar, for an easy, continual check, so you can see how different processes or problems are developing.

Try RealTemp I think (Hope) it gives a more accurate reading. There is 10 degrees difference between that and coretemp on my rig.

Intel e7200 @ 4.0GHz (4.32GHz SuperPi(e)) Lapped
Asus P5E-VM (Vdroop pencil modded)
4Gb Patriot Pc6400 4-4-4-12
250Gb Samsung Spinpoint
Sapphire ATI 3870/Akasa Vortexx Neo
Enermax 600 Watt PSU
Ubuntu/Win XP
All in a Thermaltake Handbag...
Or flying @ 4.21GHz in the Stacker.

Try some MM Super Pi(e) here!

Will study that but, Whilst running Orthos am getting a reading of 72c and idle its about 37c (i think), Have noted that someone on here is at 3.8 without changing the voltage, I am at 1.5v and am wondering if I could lower the voltage a bit.

Hi Wiz!
As they are actually reading information from the same CPU die sensor, if you run CoreTemp and RealTemp side-by-side, they should agree within a degree. However, RealTemp also runs a display of Minimum and Maximum detected readings, which can be rather useful.
A ten-degree difference is more typical of idle versus stressed readings or production variation between processors. (Some are 'hot' and a few are 'cool', depending upon luck of the draw.)
(Meanwhile, Ubuntu Linux or LinuxMint lmsensors and sensors-applet display can be more informative.)
(Edit PS - I really must finish writing this up properly.)

I'd be surprised if you needed to overvolt and that's where some of the increased temp will be coming from.
Knock it back to stock.

Even if it's really 72, it's still within operating parameters.
All C2Ds will "thermal throttle" themselves if they get too hot (they slow themselves down) and you're nowhere near that yet.

Have returned the cpu to stock voltage and verified via real temp etc and it works fine, The temp dropped by 10c !!
